Any other parents out there have major anxiety watching their child try to feed themselves? Toddler feeding is no joke and Liam is seriously the messiest eater (his daycare has even told us this!) and literally gets food everywhere. Let me set the scene for you a bit.
Picture your beautiful blonde hair child with a big plate of spaghetti. And then imagine him taking that first bite and realizing how good it is and then shoving a big handful in his mouth. It’s so good that he then gets excited and wipes his spaghetti sauce covered hands in his hair. But, being a cute toddler is exhausting so he rubs his eyes getting more spaghetti sauce all over his face.
This is a normal meal for us. I can’t even count the amount of times Liam has been sent home from daycare in a completely different outfit because he got food all over his clothes. Unfortunately for my washing machine, it’s not acceptable to strip all of the kids down to their diapers to eat at daycare like we do at home.
Thankfully, we have some great new products that make getting Liam cleaned up after mealtime a breeze!
Silicone bibs are basically the greatest invention ever for toddlers. We’ve been loving this Nuby 3D Silicone Feeding Bib for keeping Liam (relatively) clean at mealtime. Plus, how cute is this sheriff design?! The Silicone is super easy to clean up and the scoop helps catch spills and all of the food that makes it into his lap and not his mouth. #toddlerproblems
Liam also isn’t a big fan of me feeding him anymore but also can’t be trusted with a bowl or plate of anything (although our dog is a big fan!). Nuby Sure Grip Feeding Plate to the rescue! Now I can suction the mat to Liam’s tray and/or our counter while still sectioning off his food.
An added bonus is it’s the Koala design and Liam is currently obsessed with the moving Sing! and the main character is a Koala named Mr. Moon so he gets a little more excited for it. And the best part about both products is they’re silicone so you can just rinse them off and wipe them dry or even toss them in the dishwasher to get them cleaned up. So stinkin’ easy!
Both products are coming soon to Babies ‘R Us and Amazon.
Note: I was sent these products by Nuby in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
