Skincare is always close to my heart as I don’t like to change-up my routine often from the products I use day in and day out. Once finding out I was pregnant, I do start paying closer attention to the products I’m using so that nothing I put on my skin can harm the baby. Today I’m sharing with you my 5 favorite products to use while pregnant both for my face and my belly.
When I was pregnant with Liam, I used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lotion for Stretch Marks religiously but for whatever reason, this go round the smell is too strong for me. After asking for some recommendations for new products to try, I remembered I had a giant container of coconut oil in our pantry that would do just the trick and it’s completely natural. A few years back I used coconut oil as my every day moisturizer for both my face and my body and veered away from it once my container ran out. While my belly is still relatively small at this point, even once it gets large and in charge this will still be my go to over traditional lotion as it gets deep into my skin to moisturize but soaks in much better than traditional body oils. Plus, you can buy it just about anywhere and it has about a million uses so why not?
Pregnant or not, this is hands down my favorite product for drying up any unsightly zits that pop up. Tyler even uses it too! After having used some majorly drying prescription products as a teenager that left my skin super flakey, this is nothing like that. Also, its way cheaper and completely natural which we love. The only bad thing I have to say about this is that it smells kind of like licorice and is quite strong. But, I’m ok with that one so if you’re not sensitive to smells, this is for you! And if you are, hold your breath while it dries. 🙂
This is another product I used throughout my pregnancy with Liam and even beyond until I finally ran out and am using again now. I have struggled with acne and now hormonal breakouts since I was a teenager so I always focus on skin cleaning face washes but most of them are loaded with chemicals. However, Belli’s Anti-Blemish face wash has no harmful ingredients so its safe for you and for baby and it actually works! It has a very mild but pleasant smell to it and is a gel consistency. I use this with my Clarisonic to exfoliate and lift away any remaining makeup and dirt/debris left on my face.
This is a product that’s newer to me but has quickly become a new favorite. I have tried about a billion different moisturizers over the years to see which work best with my skin and I love the consistency of this one. It is a very light cream-like consistency with a pleasant citrus scent. I haven’t found that it makes my skin oily in the least as it is super lightweight. However, I do prefer this for a daytime moisturizer under my makeup and prefer a heavier night cream in the evenings.
Another new-to-me products that I love. Eye cream is something I haven’t used regularly but know that since I’m about to turn 30 (gasp!) and will soon have 2 kids, I need to nip these wrinkles in the bud! This eye cream has the same consistency and citrus scent as the moisturizer and a little goes a long way. I don’t even need a full pump to thoroughly cover my under eye and crows feet area. As to whether or not it actually brightens or not, I’ve been told numerous times over the last few weeks that I’m glowing and no one has told me that I look haggard and tired (despite how I feel 95% of the time) so I’m going to take that as a yes!
Belli Beauty provided me with these products but all reviews are always 100% my honest opinion.
