I’ve been absent the past few weeks on these Let’s Talk Tuesday posts but I’m back at it!
- I’m dying to decorate for Christmas already but Tyler says we have to wait. Party pooper.
- If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen that we started Keto last week and I’m already over it. Who ever thought no carbs was a good idea? I also feel like eating this much meat and cheese and limiting your fruits and vegetables can’t be good.
- As I’ve been working/blogging from home during my maternity leave I’ve really started wanting a lap desk for when I’m sitting on the couch with my laptop. For some reason this feels very 1995. Thoughts?
- Speaking of 1995, did you know they still sell Caboodles? I had a sparkly blue one from Limited Too. If only I still had it. It would be vintage!
- With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we’ve been toying with a few recipe ideas and I feel like I keep seeing a variation of this floating around. I think we’ll be adding it to our menu because it sounds absolutely amazing!
- A few of you suggested that I watch Vampire Diaries when I asked for maternity leave Netflix binge recommendations. I was hesitant at first but I’m halfway through the 5th season aaaand I’m hooked. Sadly I only have 2 weeks left of maternity leave so I need to get to getting to finish it before I go back.
- I wish I could be one of those people who completely transforms every room of their house for each holiday but I just can’t seem to justify spending all that money on decorations for bedrooms and new bedding, etc. Seriously, how do people do it??
- Our kitchen table ends up being a catch-all for literally everything. My purse, coats, shoes, Liam’s artwork from school, etc. I mentioned to Tyler that I thought we needed some type of mudroom storage where everyone’s stuff can have a place and showed him a picture of what I thought would look good. He liked the idea so much we’re going to hope to have it done by Thanksgiving. Pray it turns out just like my Pinterest ideas!

Hello, Ryan and Tyler!
Thank you for having me over this weekend! I really enjoyed my time with you and the kids.
Regarding lap desks, I have a plastic one I use in bed, which is a flat surface and legs. It’s only a few years old.
The other devise I use is the size and shape of a large binder. It’s a hard flat surface on one side and a cushion on the other. I think it’s from the 1970s or 1980s.
Both get plenty of use. Good ideas are timeless.
A larger option is the kotatsu. Traditional Japanese people sit on the floor a lot, so this will depend upon your level of comfort.
