Wow, how are we only just over a week away from Christmas?! This year has really flown by and I can’t believe we’re already in the midst of the holiday hustle. But if you’re like me, I’m already feeling over all of the overindulgent holiday treats. Not to mention, I feel like everywhere we go my kids are being sugared up to no end.
So, for a little break from the heavy and sugary treats, I decided to whip up a nutritious but festive treat that the kids will love (and the adults too, let’s be honest!). These are perfect for a holiday party or event or just a regular ole Tuesday where you want to surprise your kiddos.
Enter: GRINCH KABOBS!
One sure fire way to make sure your kids gobble up all of their fruits and veggies is to make them fun and exciting. What about these adorable treats is not fun and exciting? My kids love the Grinch so these are sure winners in our house.
*Note: this cake pop stand is not necessary when making these but it was incredibly helpful while I was assembling these so the yogurt didn’t run off on a plate.
Strawberries aren’t in season right now so it can be tricky to get good strawberries. Fortunately, I’ve been able to find some decent ones recently for the hats along with the grapes and bananas.
For the “pom pom” on our Santa Hat I used the Food Lion Original Non-fat Vanilla Yogurt. This is a one-star item on the Guiding Star scale of good, better and best nutrition so this is a great item to use to add a bit of sweetness while still providing good nutritional value.
